Short Story: Game for Survival

Live or Die?

It all started when my friends and I decided to make a farewell at the end of the year in which we were supposed to eat at Porthos. 

When Juan, Ana and I arrived at the restaurant we realized that our friend Andres was not in the restaurant, we were worried since he is a very punctual person and we decided to call him but he had his phone off, so we decided to go to his house to see if he was ok.

When we arrived at his house, his grandmother told us that she thought he was with us, we worried a lot and we looked for him throughout the house, but when we entered at  his  bedroom, we realized that his PlayStation was on with a game called, Live or Die?

It gave us a lot of curiosity because he never leaves his PlayStation on, so we decided to turn it off, when we suddenly were teletransported to another dimension and now we were in the game, and inside it, we assumed that Andres was there too. 

The place was horrible the air was polluted and it was very difficult to breathe, the rivers were black with so much waste and there were many dead birds on the floor.

We were desperate thinking about how we were going to leave the

video game when a man named Esmerejildo arrived and told us that in this game we had a mission, that each one had an avatar, each one had their abilities and at the same time difficulties, each one had three lives, but if we lost all three lives we would stay in the video game forever.

Our mission was to look for the precious stone of the earth, since this stone had been stolen and without it, the contamination would continue; then, the Lord abandoned us and we stayed in the middle of a polluted jungle. Without knowing what to do, so we started walking. While on the map, we saw that we were on level one and that we had to reach level five.

Each level was more difficult, but the most demanding was level five, since we had to fight against a group of soldiers who protected the stone.  In this level we found Andres and we told him that we had come here to help him out, so he thanked us, since doing the mission alone was not easy and he only had one life left because he had lost two; as a result, he could not breathe because of the contamination in the air.

We just needed to take the stone to show it to the sun and shout very loudly, we wanted to live, but because of the pollution we could not see the sun. So, a very brave Ana took a unicorn and flew to the sun to show the stone and later we could scream " We want to live ".

Suddenly, everything became like a jungle full of life. It was no longer difficult to breathe, the rivers looked clean and there was no pollution. Mr. Esmerejildo appears again and thanks us for saving the jungle, and suddenly we appeared in Andres' house, so we were very happy, since we thought we were not going to survive.

Then, to celebrate, we went to eat and we reflected on the pollution

that is currently in the world and that we should go to a foundation to help clean beaches or recycle, but before going there, we should destroy the game, so that we never have the probability of dying in a video game.
