Gym or Yoga?

Is Yoga a Hit or Miss?

Everyone has heard about a discipline that requires high mental concentration, and some physical abilities, a very respected practice born in India, but very known among the countries of the world, some people claim that it is a miracle, that it is efficient and is a simple way to keep your body healthy and in shape, but is practicing yoga better than going to the gym?

In my case, when I first tried yoga I thought it was going to be extremely relaxing, and with simple exercises that I could do in seconds, but this was not the case, actually yoga is harder that what it looks. those simple positions that we often see in videos or in pictures, require a lot of strength, flexibility, and years of practice, and additionally  the routine often repeats with the difficult positions over and over again, but don't get me wrong, despite yoga is hard at first, I really felt a good aura in the class, and that is what probably attracts me more than anything  to this training.

The whole class is a reflection of your life and your will, and
all that effort that you make is the amount of energy you send to the things you wish for. At the end is when you really feel the magic of yoga. Is when you really connect with who you are and you began to be more conscious about the things you want and the ones you already have.

On the other hand joining a gym membership has always been the most popular option, and even though the beginning can be tough for some people, it creates with time a healthy habit that you should include in your daily routine.

One thing about gyms. is that they usually make you set a personal goal, which makes you more conscious about your weight and your eating habits, and that can be good, but if it’s not handled carefully it can turn the gym as something that you can’t live without, almost an obsession. Another thing about gyms is that they can be overcrowded  sometimes and you have to wait for equipment, and also the personal trainers, the thing is that when you pay for a membership you don’t pay for personal training, and you’re often persuaded to pay extra money for that, and that is when a disadvantage comes, and is that if you don’t opt for one, then you really don’t receive assistance in your journey, and you have figure things out by yourself.

In my experience at the gym, I can say I had fun, and I
strongly believe that the main reason why, is because of the at the group classes. I actually enjoyed waking up early in the morning just to go to theses classes, and many people assisted to them, therefore I could felt the motivation in the room, from others whose energy were centered in exercising in a different way, and by teamwork.

In conclusion, there are many ways to keep a healthy lifestyle out there, and it really depends on your personal interests and your commitment. Gym is only one option, but there are many more, that you should try. Yoga is definitely something you should do once in your life, with it doesn't matter what any one else is doing, there is no comparison or competition because there is only you; besides, it significantly reduces stress, and you can do it without equipment, everywhere and anywhere!
