Consequences of War

Mental Health

Wars have a lot of negative impact on society because they destroy communities and families, disrupting the development of the social and economic fabric of nations.

But war not only has consequences in the economic part of a country, but also it affects the combatants and non-combatants alike, their mental health is always compromised because of the constant fear, insecurity and anexty they either feel or are into contact.

The combined effects of war, torture, and repression frequently extend to non-combatant civilians, particularly for those caught in war zones or forced to participate in war-related activities, such as murder or rape, against their will.

As an example, we can show you the psychological effects of WWI on people, which was a war that affected the majority of the global population.

After returning home, the veterans may develop depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, traumatic brain injury and other conditions, as a result of their service, and these issues affect not only the service member, but also their spouses, children, extended families, and friends.

War has a catastrophic effect on the health and well being of nations. Studies have shown that conflicting situations cause more mortality and disability than any major diseases. War either blocks or slows down the growth of the social and economic tissues of  communities or even the world.
