A Chronicle Of A Dying Planet
All
that could be heard was the loud sound of police sirens and ambulances, which
appeased the screams that came from the street.
The
gray sky told that probably the gods
were angry at us, so no sunrays were escaping from the clouds to give a
little faith about salvation.
When looking through the windows you could see many people trying to escape to survive, some went by car, others on foot, but all escaped with the same goal, to live.
In
the churches the believers met to ask their god for a salvation, which I did
not think it would come, the world was giving back everything we had done to it
for years.
The
coast, which was previously very calm and with few waves, now hit the sand with
force and the tides, that
grew more and more, threatened the nearby houses and probably all would be covered by giant waves.
grew more and more, threatened the nearby houses and probably all would be covered by giant waves.
The
rain did not stop since dawn, it seemed that the clouds were crying because
they knew everything that would happen to us, I felt that everyone who was on
the street would have some burns from the rain drops that were hurting people,
it was not raining nor it will rain more clean water, it was a hunting.
Mom
always told me that man's worst enemy was the greed
of the human race to have everything and which would finally leave us with nothing, and that in life everything is like a boomerang, what you throw is returned to you and could even come back with more force than with which you cast it, so much strength that it would damage everything that surrounded them, even if you are innocent, that does not really matter, the fact to be present makes you a victim of the mistakes of others. Just like Adam and Eve who sinned and we, being their children, carry their sin until the baptism.

I
would like to think that this is only happening on this side of the world, that
the other countries are doing well, that the people they care for, are more
than the ones that hurt, but the news only show me the opposite, reports and
reports of how natural disasters end up with people and entire countries: Earthquake
in Chile, eruption of a volcano in Hawaii, tsunami on San Andres islands, different
events but all together named them as the end of the world.
I
used to play closing my eyes and imagining my life, how it would be if I had a
power I would like to travel in time, travel years ago where the air was pure,
virgin beaches with crystal clear waters, be able to walk through the streets
and see other children playing in the parks and not with phones, couples
sending each other letters and not text messages, parents taking care of their
children and not with their eyes on screens with radiation, but when I opened
my eyes, it was inevitable to feel disappointed.
I
was not afraid of what would surely happen, I have a calm mind, I know that I
have not done anything wrong, and God knows it too, he will reward all those
with good hearts, but not even the money nor the power you have can save you from mother earth's rage.
To plant a new crop it is necessary to remove
everything that is damaged and although some plants are healthy, they do not
take long to damage themselves like the others.
