Colombian Economy Today

The biggest concern Colombian population has lately had  is the increase of the VTA in the products of the family shopping basket, ever since the government announced it was in their plans due to the deficit that was presented in Colombia´s economy after Ex-President Juan Manuel Santos mandate and also because it would provide the administration of President Duque with 11, 3 billion pesos to finance social programs. 

This was a topic that started to affect every single social class very quickly, starting even from the “lowest” to the considered “highest”, so this was an issue in whose decison we were all involved and had the right to be informmed. 
From the beginning this taxing proposal was 100% criticized and not accepted by Colombians, it was something that terrorized them and some even felt the current President Ivan Duque betrayed them since before he was elected he promised this was a measure he would never  apply, and he ended up doing it. 

Anyway this measure recently was vanished due to how everyone was affected  and how criticized it was by our society, through multiple sources like blogs, newspapers, articles, news broadcasts and even in social media as a consequence from Colombians'  concerns and also because it seemed they wouldn't do anything to be catered. So the government had to change these measures and look for other options in order for be able to cover the gap in our national budget.
