January 23rd War Will Be ON!

 On Saturday, January 23 at UFC 257 Fight Island from Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Conor “The Notorious” McGregor will face Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier in a 5-round lightweight fight. Fanatics of Mixed Martial Arts know that they cannot miss this fight, both fighters are the best that is still active today. Just a year ago, the Irishman thrashed Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone for a T.K.O. in just 40 seconds, clearing up doubts about his fitness.

Both fighters already measured their strengths in 2014 (UFC 178) at featherweight, and the Irishman won by TKO in the first round. This time they will do it at lightweight, with no title at stake. The bets give more credit to a McGregor (32 years old) and former featherweight and lightweight champion.The accuracy of his blows and his power with the left hand are fearsome. Let's add that in his first confrontation he swept Poirier when the fight was only 1 minute and 46 seconds into the first round.

Of course, "The Diamond" is not the same fighter. His overall technique has matured, he is more solid and tougher than in 2014 and he has a better fight on the ground than the Irishman. Until Gaethje appeared, he was the one who had put Khabib in the most (not too much) of trouble.
